My sugar free pumpkin walnut bread is a great BYOB dessert you can take to a Thanksgiving potluck that you can turn to if you’re trying to divert your little one’s attention from eating all the other sugary baked goods.
What is the solution to make it so sweet? Introducing Lakanto Maple Flavored Sugar-Free Monkfruit Syrup. Monkfruit, also known as ” Luo Han Guo” from its native home in China, has the ability to sweeten without raising the glycemic index. According to Healthline, “Monk fruit sweetener is made from extract derived from dried fruit. The extract is 150-250 times sweeter than table sugar, has zero calories and carbs, and does not raise blood glucose levels.
Most nonnutritive sweeteners can cause side effects like gas, bloating, or allergic reactions. And some artificial sweeteners like Equal and Splenda are controversial. In the case of monk fruit sweeteners, there are no known side effects.”
